Bad reputation

a collection which connects punkstyle and hip-hop streetstyle

This collection combines the hip-hop street style from the ghettos with the punk style that emerged in London and New York in the 1970s.
Here two worlds meet, which nevertheless have much in common. Both movements break away from social conventions.

Overlapping in time, the youth movement of hip hop draws attention to the still prevailing oppression of blacks, while punks rebel against the conventional system and make their attitude clear with music, clothing and behaviour.

In the collection, the typical punk elements are reinterpreted. Checked fabrics are plated and brought into a modern context.  Together with the oversized look of hip hop it results in an exciting and powerful look. The different elements create exciting sihouettes that go hand in hand with the current, recurring fashion preferences, such as a low waistband and long skirts.

Deliberately, the collection is a women-only collection, since the style in the 70s was quite male-dominated. This creation is meant to give women that powerful and rebellious look.
