Circe
Circe, Western literature's most famous sorceress, made famous by Homer in his 'Odyssey'. Home to the island Aiaia and always clad in black, she turns all men who dare enter her dwelling into pigs.
First I started with a handmade smocking-technique.
Then I wanted to experiment with draping, I tried it with a white fabric I found in my grandmas basement but I wanted to go for a leather optic, which matched my idea.
The top construction from the front is made by draping and the skirt is made of a construction of a 3/4 circle and added ruffles which make the skirt appear pompous.

Here can you see some more steps of the process.

The top construction from the front is made by draping on a mannequin in size 38.

Later I decided to change the dividing seems because I didn't like them from the side view.
Here you see me stitching in the zipper by hand because at my family's place (where I spent the weekend) they had no right zipper feet for the sewing machine.
The skirt is made of a 3/4 circle construction with added ruffles to make it even bigger and more pompous.

Here you see an original picture (just the cutout version) of the finished dress.
This is how it could look on the runway.
